Add one single drop of your favourite essential oil to the quondong enocarp in the centre of this necklace and you’ll be set for the day. In fact the scent can last up to several days!
We have coated the endocarp with a light coating of varnish to protect it. The endocarp, therefore, doesn’t stain and, over time, takes on its own unique scent built up from each drop of essential oil you have added.
Strategically positioned on a shorter necklace to be up close and personal, this quondong endocarp is both a natural and unique diffuser for you oils.
Its rough and textured surface is perfect for holding your oil, while the recycled beads either side of it add colour and cheer.
We hand made this eco necklace as essential oil jewellery so you could wear your essential oils all day. We used an Australian Quondong endocarp we grew ourselves and a collection of recycled beads collected from recycle centres. This necklace sports 2 delightful recycled glass beads in pale pink with black spots as well.
A One Off Hand Made Essential Oil Jewellery Piece.
Recycled glass beads sit either side of the quondong endocarp creating a colourful addition to the natural tones of the endocarp and leather cord. Added to this one off necklace are smaller recycled beads which help hold the arrangement in place.
This necklace not only brings a personal touch to your fashion accessory wardrobe, but adds that little extra to your day.
It is a lightweight and durable piece which furthermore won’t scratch or itch.
Did You Know This About Your Hand Made Essential Oil Jewellery?
The endocarp is the woody inner most layer of the fruit which surrounds its seeds. One of its functions is to protect the seeds. The quondong endocarp has a distinctive textured surface.
We grow 2 blue quondong trees in our garden on the Sunshine Coast which provide us with the fruit we need to source our endocarps.
We hand collect, clean and process each individual blue quondong fruit so we can make sure each endocarp is clean and perfectly ready to carry your essential oils.
Check out the last three pictures in the picture gallery to get an idea. The first is the blue quondong fruit which we harvest.
The second picture shows the fruit rotting away and exposing the endocarp underneath.
The last picture shows the endocarp in the process of being cleaned and prepared for each necklace.
