I have been hand made using recycled marine debris including cast netting and a spiral shell, all found in local water ways or along our beaches.
You’ll notice my cast netting necklace may be uneven, frayed and even stained in some spots. That’s because I really AM made from marine debris. This has been hand collected and washed so I could be made into a genuine piece of wearable recycled art.
My mission is to help you raise awareness about the issues our environment faces with synthetic, man made wastes in our seas, oceans and waterways.
Are you looking for a unique piece of jewellery that combines an environmental message while also being a one off fashion statement?
I’m here to help.
By just wearing me, you’ll find yourself doing that while you go about your day! You’ll be surprised how people will notice and comment on your necklace. All you have to do is tell them my story- why I was made and what I’m made from.
It’s that simple.
Worried that I may be scratchy to wear?
Don’t be. All the jewellery made by our team are road tested to make sure we’re durable and comfortable to wear.
We had so much fun hand making this ethnic and ethical necklace from marine debris. Using recycled cast netting for the necklace cord, we then added a pendant made with a single spiral shell collected off local beaches.
An Ethnic And Ethical Necklace With A Message.
Recycled cast netting makes up the necklace’s cord and also forms the foundation for this unusual piece of wearable art. Added to this is a pendant with a dainty shell encased in bio resin.
You can wear this necklace with either side of the pendant outermost. With the clear bio resin, the pendant can therefore be viewed either side.
This necklace also brings her own personal touch to your fashion accessory wardrobe.
She is a lightweight and durable piece which furthermore won’t scratch or itch.
Want to change the length of the necklace?
Because it has been made with soft cast netting, simply tie a knot in it. Add as many knots wherever you like along the necklace. You can even make a feature of them either side of the pendant, and also subtly hide them at the back of the necklace near the findings.
Care for your necklace
The cast netting can also be gently hand washed with soapy water if it becomes dirty or stained.
Avoid submerging the stainless steel findings in warm water as this may soften the small amount of jewellery glue used to hold the cast netting in place.
Simply polish the pendant with a soft cloth if the surface becomes dirty.
All resin may yellow slightly with time and exposure to light, so your necklace needs to be stored out of direct light when not being worn.
