Green Bangle With Marine Plastic Waste
We have hand made this green bangle with marine plastic waste using pieces of frayed marine rope and fishing net cleared off local beaches.
Because we reuse plastics and man made debris in our jewellery as a way to raise awareness about the amount of plastics in our oceans, we couldn’t resist adding marine fern as a contrast.
The simple use of translucent green dye adds to the underwater scene depicting sea anemones or coral made from the frayed rope.
A Green Bangle With Marine Plastic WasteThat Carries An Environmental Message.
Incorporating debris collected from our beaches, this green bio resin cuff showcases man made waste.
Hand collected by both volunteers and recreational dive groups, the man made waste has been featured as a deliberate environmental statement.
Did you know? 8 million tons of plastic goes into our oceans, waterways and also our beaches every year? Here are a few facts about these plastic wastes
Hand Made With Love
Because we hand make each of our bangles, you may find slight imperfections.
This may be due to an inclusion such as netting sitting close to the surface and creating slight ripples or waves in the surface of the resin.
It may be that the plastic reacts with the resin and causes slight clouding in spots.
There may even be a slight or small dimple caused by an air bubble.
We believe all these features show that each of our pieces is hand made and not produced in a factory or by machine. They also make each piece unique and quirky.
Care Of Your Green Bangle With Marine Plastic Waste
Resin may gradually yellow with time due to exposure to UV. With this in mind, we suggest storing it away from light when not being worn. To clean your bangle, simply wipe it over with a soft cloth.
