Multi Coloured Bangle With Recycled Marine Plastic
This multi coloured bangle with recycled marine plastic has been hand crafted using a panel from a hand woven synthetic string bag found washed up on the beach at K’gari [ Fraser Island].
The string bag we found is a traditional bag originating in Papua New Guinea called a ” Bilum”.
This particular bag was hand made using synthetic nylon string. We wonder how it ended up washed ashore in Australia!
The Bangle’s simple, yet stylish shape, allows the materials used in it to subsequently be effectively showcased and featured.
The key part of this bangle is the panel from the bilum, which is complimented with some colourful synthetic sections of rope, also cleared off the beach.
We deliberately encased these pieces in clear bio resin so the synthetic materials could be clearly shown.
By focusing on the plastic trash, we have prioritized drawing attention to the impact plastics have on marine life in our oceans and seas across the world.
As a result, this bangle makes no apology for showcasing the trash we leave behind in our oceans.
A Multi Coloured Bangle That Carries An Environmental Message.
Collected from our beaches, the pieces of discarded plastic cord and frayed bag are the key features in this unusual piece.
Hand collected, cleaned and processed, the piece has furthermore been featured as a deliberate environmental statement.

Hand Made With Love
Because we hand make each of our bangles, you may find slight imperfections.
This may be due to something in the resin sitting close to the surface and creating slight ripples or waves in the surface of the resin.
It may be that the micro plastics react with the resin and consequently cause slight clouding in spots.
There may even be a slight or small dimple caused by an air bubble.
We believe all these features show that as a result each of our pieces is hand made and therefore not produced in a factory or by machine. They also make each piece unique and quirky.
Care Of Your Multi Coloured Bangle With Recycled Marine Plastic
Resin does gradually yellow with time due to exposure to UV. With this in mind, suggest storing it away from light when not being worn.
To clean your bracelet, simply wipe it over with a soft cloth.
