Meet Talitha, an organic statement necklace.
Talitha, an organic statement necklace is a rather unusual piece and is a great example of what is wonderful and different about Nature.
Twisting and hanging off her banana fiber necklace is a pendant that is, above all, a statement piece. Looping itself over and around the hand made necklace is some Wonga Wonga vine. This amazing vine doesn’t need any help staying attached to the necklace while also providing the perfect place to hang a Blue Quondong seed.
Designed by Nature and executed by Jo, this necklace first of all started with the Wong Wonga vine as the key piece. Jo just did as she was told!
Want to know more about Talitha?
We hand make our Blue Quondong jewellery using both natural and recycled materials. Individually processed and prepared, the Australian Blue Quondong seeds are also grown and collected from our home garden.
Growing along our fence line, our Wonga Wonga vine often tries to take over our olive and Lily Pilly trees, which as a result, makes pruning necessary. This means we often have a ready supply!
The piece in this necklace is typical of the way this vine’s tendrils twist to attach itself to other structures. If left too long, these tendrils grow into thick branches which are far too big to use in our jewellery.
Sourced from local recycle centres and second hand shops, the glass bead compliments the unique Australian vine and seeds.
