Have you ever thought about wearing repurposed marine debris as a bangle to raise awareness about man made waste found in our oceans and on our beaches? This bangle with marine debris has been made with just this in mind, using pieces of repurposed and reclaimed marine trash embedded in bio resin.
The scattering of frayed nylon fishing net, rusty metal fishing swivels and pieces of hard, white plastic , all set in translucent resin, gives this one off bracelet a distinctive sense of the deep blue in the ocean.
We have deliberately focused on plastic waste in order to draw attention to the variety of plastics found in our oceans.
Repurposed Marine Debris As A Bangle Carrying An Environmental Message.
Collected from our beaches, marine debris in the form of nylon fishing line, metal fishing swivels and pieces of hard plastic are the key features in this fashion statement piece.
Incorporating man made waste collected from local beaches, this bangle showcases man made waste.
Hand collected by both volunteers and recreational dive groups, the plastic has been featured as a deliberate environmental statement.
Did you know? 8 million tons of plastic goes into our oceans, waterways and also our beaches every year? Here are a few facts about these plastic wastes
Hand Made With Love
Because we hand make each of our bangles, you may find slight imperfections.
This may be due to something in the resin sitting close to the surface and creating slight ripples or waves in the surface of the resin.
It may be that the micro plastics react with the resin and cause slight clouding in spots.
There may even be a slight or small dimple caused by an air bubble.
We believe all these features show that each of our pieces is hand made and not produced in a factory or by machine. They also make each piece unique, unusual and quirky.
Care of your Bangle
Resins gradually yellow with time due to exposure to UV. Just to make sure it stays in excellent condition, however, we send you your bangle in its own bag. We suggest storing it away from light when not being worn.
To clean your bangle, simply wipe it over with a soft cloth.

Repurposed Marine Debris As A Bangle
Our bangles are designed to showcase and raise awareness about man made synthetic wastes in our oceans, seas and waterways.
By creatively recycling marine plastics in a way that is both fun and fashionable, we aim to draw attention to the impact of our use of plastics.
A Hand Made, One Off Piece.
This bangle has been hand made using a selection of repurposed plastic pieces and discarded metal fishing tackle.
Each bangle we craft is a hand made and one off piece of wearable art.
Using a bio resin with a plant component, we aim to be as environmentally conscious as possible making jewellery with resin.
Each piece incorporates and features man made marine debris which is collected, cleaned and sorted by hand – a time consuming and dirty process.
We can confidently say this unique bangle has been made with love and care.
