Our bangles are designed to showcase and raise awareness about man made synthetic wastes in our oceans, seas and waterways.
This particular piece features frayed cast netting and rusty fishing hooks, all collected off local beaches or out of waterways.
Added into this bangle are swirls of white and yellow dye, along with tiny sea shells.
We often deliberately include a small piece of natural organic beauty in our jewellery as a contrast to the man made synthetic materials and waste we recycle.
By creatively recycling marine plastics [ in this case, synthetic cast netting and metal hooks] in a way that is both fun and fashionable, we aim to draw attention to the impact of our use of plastics.
A Hand Made, One Off Piece.
Each bangle we craft is a hand made and one off piece of wearable art. This particular piece features pieces of fishing net, soft plastic fishing lures and pieces of hard plastic.
Using a bio resin, we aim to be as environmentally conscious as possible when making jewellery with resin.
Each piece incorporates and features man made marine debris which is collected, cleaned and sorted by hand – a time consuming and dirty process. We then go through several stages to hand craft each piece, from arranging the inclusions with thought, to pouring resin into the moulds over several phases.
We can confidently say this unique bangle has been made with love and care.
We hand made this treasure from trash bangle using marine debris by embedding cast netting, tangled fishing line and reclaimed rusty hooks into bio resin. Collected off local beaches, the frayed cast netting, hooks and scattering of small shells all rests within swirls of yellow and white translucent dye.
We did, however, deliberately keep the resin clear in places to showcase the texture and colours of the netting and hooks.
A Bangle With An Eco Message.
Incorporating frayed cast netting and rusty hooks collected from local beaches as well as our waterways, this delightful bangle showcases man made waste in our oceans and seas.
Hand collected by both volunteers and recreational dive groups, the plastic and man made waste has been featured as a deliberate environmental statement.
Did you know? 8 million tons of plastic goes into our oceans, waterways and also our beaches every year? Here are a few facts about these plastic wastes
Care Of Your Bangle.
Resin does gradually yellow with time due to exposure to UV. With this in mind, we suggest storing it away from light when not being worn.
To clean your bangle, simply wipe it over with a soft cloth.
