Thank you 2020
2020 has been a challenging year for most of us in one way or another.
Initially I agreed, but then realised that though my business hadn’t gone ahead in leaps and bounds, it hadn’t gone under and had held its ground. That was actually a bonus!
So, I decided to take a different spin and perspective, and asked myself what was positive about the last 12 months.
From a business perspective, I’m beginning to learn how to work smarter rather than harder. I notice I’m also looking at how I work and how I approach things from a different perspective. My business philosophy of nurture, integrity, connection, original, imaginative and enlightened now sits more easily within my business framework and approach.
From a creative perspective, I’ve begun trialing and experimenting more. Due to a lack of some ready materials, I’ve taken old, unfinished projects and reworked them into new pieces. I’ve taken the times of lock down or isolation to quietly challenge myself creatively.
At a personal level, my close relationships have improved. [ Here I was at the beginning of the year thinking they were already great!] I’ve also found I’ve become more discerning about who I spend time with. I no longer take peoples attitudes to me or my work personally and last by no means least. I’ve learnt to accept myself for who I am. I’m not a brilliant marketer [ that’s OK], I’m not a smart businessperson [ and that’s OK], I’m not a skilled artist in a specific field [ and that’s OK too].
I AM, however, an adaptable and creative thinker who has a range of skills and techniques at her fingertips. I relish change and use it as a way to adapt and challenge both my creative and personal side.
Thank you 2020 for giving me the opportunity to grow.
