We are all cooks even though our recipes and ingredients may vary.
Have you ever thought about the fact that we are all cooks, even though our recipes and ingredients may vary?
With all the changes this year, along with the drive to become a bit more self sufficient, I’ve found we have more home grown vegetables than we can consume. The solution has been to trial a number of preserving methods and simultaneously hone my skills as a cook.
What does cooking, recipes and ingredients have to do with me?
In this domestic process, I realised that “cooking” can mean a myriad of things. To cook a meal, you need ingredients and a recipe. So…. does that mean that when I make a bio resin bangle I’m cooking?
I have ingredients. Bio resin and marine debris.
I have a recipe. 1.mix bio resin together, 2.pour into mould, 3.add marine debris, 4.wait to set, 5. unmould, 6.sand and polish…]
So if you take this thinking one step further…. we all cook in one way or another. Your recipe and ingredients may be different to mine, but the process of cooking remains the same.
Your ingredients could be a particular product, clay, fabric, students, customers, plants, wood, metal, glass… the list goes on.
Your recipe may be how to effectively sell a product, change clay into a useful bowl, or how to make a dress out of fabric, etc.
Cooks Rule The World Through Our Varied Recipes And Ingredients
So, no matter what we do, we are actually all cooks! We are all cooks even though our recipes and ingredients may vary.
And if you take it another step…. when each of us “cooks”, we bring our own personal perspective and twist to the end product.
