Wild At Heart Carpet Python Shed Bangle.
Our bangles and bracelets are designed to showcase and raise awareness about man made synthetic wastes in our oceans, seas and waterways and the impact these have on wildlife.
In the case of this bangle, we made the conscious decision to NOT include pieces of the usual debris we use, but to simply celebrate the beauty of Nature by using part of a Brown Tree snake shed.
A Hand Made, One Off Piece.
Each bangle we craft is a hand made and one off piece of wearable art.
Using a plant based resin that is 100% bio based, we aim to be as environmentally conscious as possible when making jewellery with resin.
Each piece usually incorporates and features natural as well as man made marine debris which is collected, cleaned and sorted by hand – a time consuming and dirty process. In the case of this bangle, however, we chose to simply celebrate Nature!
We can confidently say this unique bangle has been made with love and care.
We hand made this wild at heart Carpet Python shed bangle using part of a discarded wild snake shed found on a farm in Queensland.
Scattered among the snake shed, on the other hand, are tiny bubbles embedded within the resin as a testament to the living wild snake which continues to lives happily somewhere. Also added are tiny flakes of gold leaf to give a sense of luxury.
All of this is consequently encased in a clear 100% bio based resin, which therefore allows the inclusions to be showcased to their best advantage.

We usually incorporate debris, such as the pieces of hard plastic, collected from local beaches in our jewellery, but in this case we simply wanted to celebrate the beauty of Nature through this shed and shells.

What Is This Snake Shed Bangle Made From?
We use an Australian made and patented bio resin, in order to reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible. The resin we use has a bio base of 100% and has a low VOC [ odourless and contains no solvents] and is PBA free. For more information, click here.

It can often be a challenge identifying a discarded wild snake shed.
Where we live, we often find sheds from a range of wild snakes. These include both Carpet and Spotted Pythons, Tree Snakes, Whip Snakes and Eastern Brown Snakes. Though the Carpet Python is one of the most numerous, it can still be a challenge to identify one!
A piece of shed with a few scales on, may not be enough to identify the snake. Carpet Pythons and Spotted Pythons can look very similar. Added to this, both can live in similar or overlapping areas.
The adult Spotted Python is much smaller than the adult Carpet Python. Telling them apart however, can still be a challenge. Often the head is required to differentiate, as Spotted Pythons have 3 scales across the top of the head in a straight line between the eyes.
Another challenge is that a snake shed may fade and deteriorate with time and the elements, so identifying a shed by colour or pattern may not be a simple task, especially as we often don’t know how old the shed is.
In the case of this bangle, identifying it has been possible, as the shed had not been degraded by being out in the elements for too long.
Care of your Bracelet.
Our resin doesn’t yellow over time, but to keep it in excellent condition, we do suggest keeping it out of direct light when storing it. With this in mind, we send you your bracelet in its own bag.
And finally, to clean your bracelet, simply wipe it over with a soft cloth.
